Appliance Zone Racing Nabs a Top-Five Finish at Magnolia Motor Speedway
CORYDON, IN (July 13, 2011) - Appliance Zone Racing was in action at several venues across the nation this past weekend. The newest driver to the Appliance Zone Racing team, Earl Pearson Jr., was in action in Columbus, MS over the weekend. Earl, driving the Bobby Labonte–owned #44 dirt late model in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned event at Magnolia Motor Speedway, would win his consolation race to earn the 19th starting position for the feature. Earl would move through the field and advanced as high as third place during the $20,000 to win 100-lap feature event. He finished in fourth place at the checkers, his fourth top-five finish in the last four races.
“We have been working on a few new things the past few weeks and feel were headed in the right direction. We just need to keep improving and hope to get a win on the series real soon,” Earl said. To learn more about Earl Pearson Jr. and his team log onto his website at www.bobbylabonteracing.com.
Chris Wall, driving the #71 ApplianceZone.com dirt late model, also competed at the Magnolia Motor Speedway event. Chris, who just won a feature event at the same race track the week before, was confident about a strong run in the Lucas Oil sanctioned event. Chris started the weekend off right by winning his heat race to earn the fifth starting position for the 100-lap feature event paying $20,000 to win. Chris would battle in the top five early in the feature event and was primed to break through with a good finish on the highly competitive series. But disaster struck on lap 29 as two cars got together in front of Chris, collecting his racecar in the wreck and ending his night. Chris was disappointed after the event knowing he had a good car and was a contender against the best drivers in the country.
